Always one of my favorite places to go for pancakes, waffles and breakfast. Staff is always so welcoming and helpful, and the place itself is so unique with the Waffle King mascot (and his friends/family?) plus being connected to a hotel. There's a good amount of seating, so sometimes when it gets busy we've been seated in the Mexican restaurant on the other side of the wall. But yeah, aside from that, food is always delicious, price is inexpensive, and it's great that they have all the customer coloring pages up all over the walls for decoration.

We had a lovely experience at Waffle spot! It's a breakfast restaurant inside of a hotel. Service was amazing and so friendly. I got the churro waffle (it was deep fried and sooo good!), my son got the double chip pancakes, and my husband got the French toast. You can make it a platter for 4.50 by adding 2 eggs and a side! There is plenty of seating, but go early because seats fill up kind of quick!

My husband and I have been coming here for several years. We often stay at the Kings Inn because it's affordable, clean and comfy, and attached to the Waffle Spot! We have breakfast here every morning when we're in town and there has yet to be anything less than delicious. This past visit, I got a bacon waffle, scrambled eggs, and bacon. My husband got an apple waffle (which he said was tasty but he was expecting an apple compote rather than slices of fresh apples on top), sausage, bacon, over easy eggs, and a mimosa flight. I'm pretty bacon picky and and I'd say that Waffle Spot has the best bacon, hands down. Not overly fatty. Cooked perfectly. Perfect thickness. Staff is also always very friendly.

***Personal Opinion*** We noticed this breakfast spot while we were driving to our hotel. It's very hidden so we never noticed it before. We decided to give it a try because we noticed how highly rated it was. After trying it we understand why it is rated so highly. This location was very delicious. It's a typical diner and we liked how it was decorated for valentines. The wait was not too bad and I think its due to it being hidden. We ordered chicken and waffles, a BLT, and an iced salted caramel cold brew. Everything was very delicious. The BLT was exceptional and although it is a simple dish, it was executed perfectly. The waffles were definitely the star of the show. They were crispy on the outside but soft and decadent on the inside. The butter melted very nicely on it and when paired with the maple syrup provided a nice balance of sweet and salty. For what this restaurant is and for what they serve, this location is DEFINITELY worth a visit. We will definitely be returning for any future trips to San Diego.

We've been driving by this joint for years and finally made it here for brunch. Chorizo con huevo was great, waffles were good, and the diner feel was wonderful. Ambiance was classic diner, service was friendly and prompt, and prices are in line with expectation. It's neat, and novel, and the food was good... I'll be back. This joint makes the list!

I did end up revisiting to introduce Waffle Spot to my husband. He also loved the kitschy decor and classic diner vibes, and agreed with me that this was one of the best breakfast spots out of all the ones we tried in San Diego. I'd call it a hidden gem. If you really study the menu thoroughly, you will find that there are a couple of options that are a great value (compared to other breakfast spots). For example the two egg meal with 4 pieces of bacon comes with hash browns AND mini waffles for under $14. You just have to peruse the menu thoroughly to find your perfect pairing. Tastes amazing and I love the portion sizes and that you can get a little bit of everything.

No crumbs left behind! I was delighted to find this gem this past weekend. I've been searching for a good waffle place in San Diego and I came across this Waffle Spot. Their waffles here are the epitome of a waffle. They're exactly what you think of when you think of a waffle - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I liked the different waffle flavors they had on their menu. I tried the churro waffle and the red velvet waffle with cream cheese drizzle topping. I was surprised to see they had onion rings and although it was breakfast I still had to order some! Everything I ordered was delicious! I have no regrets coming here and will definitely be coming back again. Upon arrival, you check in on their Yelp waitlist. The wait when I came on Sunday morning wasn't bad at all, probably around 15 minutes max. The inside is more spacious than I thought it would be because from initial glance you only see a diner looking area, however they do have an extension area for their second restaurant that allows for more seating.
